Blue Monday 2026 & Grounds for Conversation.

Blue Monday, Strong Voices, and Grounds for Conversation

Blue Monday is often labelled as the hardest day of the year, a moment when winter feels long, energy feels low, and mental health conversations feel especially close to the surface.

This year, it became something more.

Across Ontario, influential voices in agriculture used Blue Monday to speak openly about mental health, community care, and the importance of accessible, agriculture-specific support. Farmers and agribusiness leaders filled social media feeds with honest reflections and shared resources from Agriculture Wellness Ontario (AgWO).

At Boundary Roasting Co., we were honoured to be part of that moment.

A Shared Message Across Agriculture

What stood out most on Blue Monday was not any single post, but the collective voice.

People from all corners of the agricultural community shared why mental health support matters, how AgWO has helped someone they know, or simply reminded others that support exists and is available 24/7. The message was consistent and powerful: you are not alone, and help is here.

Seeing so many trusted agricultural voices speak openly helped normalize conversations that can often feel difficult to start. It was a reminder that when people we respect talk honestly about mental health, it opens the door for others to do the same.

Why AgWO Matters

Agriculture Wellness Ontario provides mental health support that understands farming, including the pace, pressures, seasonal rhythms, and realities of rural life. Their services are confidential, accessible, and tailored specifically to the agricultural community.

Programs like the Farmer Wellness Initiative offer free, unlimited counselling to farmers, farm family members, and agricultural workers. AgWO also provides education, peer support, and resources designed with agriculture in mind.

On Blue Monday, the spotlight placed on AgWO mattered. Awareness saves time, and time saves people.

If you or someone you know needs support, the Farmer Wellness Initiative can be reached at 1-866-267-6255, or by calling or texting 9-8-8 in a crisis.

Grounds for Conversation: Coffee with Purpose

Grounds for Conversation was created as a way to support AgWO in a tangible and ongoing way. For every bag sold, a portion is donated directly to the organization.

On Blue Monday, the coffee stood as a reminder that coffee often brings people together, whether around a kitchen table, in a shop, or between chores. Those everyday moments are often where real conversations begin.

Gratitude for a Community That Shows Up

We are deeply grateful to the agricultural leaders and creators who used their platforms on Blue Monday to share this message. Their willingness to speak openly, link resources, and encourage others to reach out made a real impact.

It was a reminder that sometimes community care looks like sharing a phone number, reposting a message, or checking in.

And sometimes, it looks like starting a conversation over a cup of coffee.

Because mental health matters, and it is always grounds for conversation.

How Grounds for Conversation Gives Back

Grounds for Conversation is more than a name. It is a direct way to support Agriculture Wellness Ontario with every purchase.

For each bag sold, a portion is donated directly to AgWO to help fund mental health support for farmers, farm families, and agricultural workers across Ontario.

Here is how it breaks down:

  • 70g bag: $0.35 donated
  • 300g bag: $1.50 donated
  • 1kg bag: $5.00 donated

Every size contributes, and every bag helps extend AgWO’s reach, from counselling services to education and peer support across the agricultural community.

Order Yours
